SignedBy connects to Mistral

The short version: SignedBy is a Model Context Protocol connector, so a Mistral agent can send, track, and retrieve real e-signature requests on your behalf — while a human still does the actual signing.

Why connect an AI agent to an e-signature platform

AI agents are increasingly doing real work, not just answering questions — drafting emails, filing tickets, updating records. Getting a document signed is exactly that kind of task: someone has to prepare it, send it, follow up, and eventually confirm it's done. Most of that is bookkeeping an agent can handle well.

The one part that has to stay bookkeeping-free is the signature itself. SignedBy's MCP connector is built around that line deliberately — every tool it exposes triggers or checks on a real signing request sent to a real person, and none of them sign on anyone's behalf. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open, model-agnostic way to wire that up, which is why the same connector works the same way in Claude, Mistral, or any other MCP-speaking client — see connecting Claude for the same idea from that side.

What the connector actually does

Once connected, a Mistral agent can send a document from one of your templates, check whether each signer has completed it, list what's out for signature or still in draft, pull the finished signed PDF or its standalone certificate, void a document that's no longer needed, or seal a PDF you already have with a real RFC 3161 timestamp for a Verified Badge — no signature flow required for that last one.

Every one of those is a real, named tool the connector registers, scoped to your own SignedBy account through the same OAuth consent screen any other connected app uses. Nothing here trains a model on your documents — the connector just returns the same details already visible in your dashboard, for the moment they're asked about.

Where this actually comes up

A freelancer, mid-conversation in Vibe

Wrapping up a project scope with a client over chat, then asking Mistral to send the engagement letter for signature without switching to another tab.

An agency running client work through Vibe

Checking whether last week's three contracts have all come back signed, and pulling the one that has for the client's finance team — all as part of the same agent session doing the actual work.

Anyone who'd rather not context-switch for a status check

“Has Bob signed yet?” is a one-line question. Without a connector it's a login, a search, and a click just to get a one-word answer.

How to get started

Setup is a copy-paste connector link and an OAuth consent screen — free on every plan, including Free.

The developer reference covers every tool's schema, the REST API, and how to wire up other MCP clients beyond Mistral and Claude.
