Free Boat & Jet Ski Rental Agreement Template

This Rental Agreement ("Agreement") is made between [Rental Company Name] ("Owner") and [Renter Name] ("Renter").

1. Vessel and Condition
Owner rents the following watercraft to Renter: [Description — e.g. "1x jet ski, model/hull number XXXX"]. Owner delivers the vessel in good working condition, equipped with all safety equipment required by law, which Renter has inspected and accepted "as seen."

2. Rental Period, Times, and Price
The rental runs from [Start Date/Time] to [End Date/Time], at an agreed price of [Amount].

3. Renter's Use and Responsibility
Renter agrees to: provide valid identification before taking possession of the vessel; use it with the care of a reasonably prudent operator, strictly for [Purpose — e.g. "a recreational outing"]; not lend, sublet, or transfer use of the vessel to any third party; and pay the agreed price at handover.

4. Liability for Damage, Loss, Fines, and Seizure
Renter is responsible for any fines, impoundment of the vessel, or other costs arising from improper operation during the rental period, as well as any loss of onboard equipment (cushions, anchor, safety gear, etc.) or damage to the vessel itself — including damage caused by a third party Renter allowed aboard. Any damage will be assessed by a qualified technician promptly upon return and reimbursed by Renter immediately.

5. Return
The vessel must be returned to the same location, in the condition delivered, no later than the time agreed above. A late return is subject to a fee of [Late Fee — e.g. "€50"], due immediately on return.

6. Personal Liability for Third-Party Damage
Renter is personally and fully liable for any damage the vessel causes to other vessels, people, animals, or property during the rental period, including damage caused by anyone else Renter allows aboard.

7. Breach and Termination
If Renter fails to comply with this Agreement, Owner may terminate it immediately and is entitled to a penalty of [Amount, e.g. "twice the agreed rental price"], in addition to compensation for any damage suffered.

8. Insurance
Renter confirms having reviewed and accepted the insurance policy covering the vessel before this Agreement was signed. Any requested changes to coverage are at Renter's own cost and must be arranged before handover.

9. Safety Acknowledgment
Renter confirms having read and understood the applicable navigation safety rules and any local waterway or harbor regulations in effect, provided together with the vessel's documentation.

10. Assumption of Risk
Owner is not liable for any injury occurring during the rental period, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct on Owner's part.

11. Governing Law and Venue
This Agreement is governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], and any dispute arising from it will be brought before the courts of [Venue].
